Tuning Into Tone Assignment

About this Assignment

Students will explore how tone influences the perception of professional messages. They will craft an initial email to inform a customer about a product delay and use ChatGPT to create four tone variations: frustrated, overly happy, casual, and highly formal. Students will reflect on how these tones affect customer trust, interpretation, and the professional relationship, analyzing which tone is most appropriate for the scenario and how it might differ for other audiences.
