STUKENT PRODUCTS USED

We use the Digital Marketing Essentials text together with the Mimic Pro simulation for both the undergraduate and postgraduate Internet and Social Media Marketing classes.

I wanted to engage and challenge my students while being an active partner in their learning. Together with the text, the simulation provides robust experiential learning that allows me to achieve this.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING TEACHING TIPS

“Market” the simulation to your student cohort early and effectively.

I start this process a week out from the first class by positioning the simulation as both a collaborative learning opportunity as well as a competitive endeavour. If you can get students to feel like they are actually working for Kent’s Camera Castle — they (and by extension, you) will get much more out of Mimic Pro. I follow this theme right through the course — doing progress debriefs after each round (just like we would if we were part of the actual internet marketing team).

HOBBIES

Food. Gaming. Movies. Food. Gaming. Movies. Food. Gaming. Movies. 😉

I am an avid gamer — currently playing my way through God of War 4. Also pictured here is my favourite movie of the “non-classic” Star Wars series and one of my recent culinary creations:

sumac-spiced kangaroo fillet, charred cauliflower, labneh, crispy spinach, and red grape gel.

Congratulations, and thank you, Vishal!
