Survey Says… Find Out What 1,800+ Students Said About Simulations

Stukent recently sent out a survey about simulations to 22,587 students that used the Mimic Pro or Mimic Social Simulations in the 2017-2018 school year.  More than 1,800 students across the world responded to the survey. The purpose of the survey was to find out how simulations help students to learn social media marketing principles in a classroom setting.

Students gave the following responses on how simulations affected their learning and educational success:

    • 7 out of 10 students (71%) reported that using simulations improved their grades.
    • 8 out of 10 students (79%) reported that using simulations helped them to learn the material faster.
    • 7 out of 10 students (72%) reported that using simulations increased their confidence in their studies.
    • 7 out of 10 students (70%) reported that using simulations improved their preparedness for class.
  • 7 out of 10 students (70%) indicated that using simulations prepared them for the workforce.

Results from the survey indicate that 7 in 10 students had a positive experience with the Mimic Pro or Mimic Social Simulations.

In addition, 65% of students have indicated that using simulations improved their efficiency in studying, and 54% said that using simulations improved their communication with peers.

Students were encouraged to add additional comments about the experience they had with the simulations. We wanted to share the good and the bad feedback we received from the students. Here are some of the highlights:

Stukent is constantly striving to improve the simulations. We take student and instructor feedback very seriously, that’s why we have already improved most of the things the students have mentioned above.

Currently, we are working on creating a whole new set of keywords for the simulations in collaboration with SEMrush and Google Adwords.

Also, students who are using the Mimic Pro simulation now have the ability to A/B test ads. The simulations offer an insights feature that gives students feedback on their performance, however, we do realize that this feature could be more accessible.  That is why we’re working on improving the overall user experience, which should improve the team collaboration and feedback features.
