High school teachers across the country competed in Stukent’s second annual Social Media Marketing Summer Challenge. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to use and learn from the world’s first social media marketing simulation, Mimic Social.
Participants were required to manage a virtual social media marketing budget for a fictitious company, Buhi Supply Co. They were given a simulated $5,000 each week and tasked with increasing revenue by creating, scheduling, and promoting posts across multiple social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. The competitor with the highest revenue at the end of three posting rounds won.
The winner will receive a new Facebook Portal+, a revolutionary video-chat device with a smart camera, and competitors who finished in the top 50 will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card.

“I found great success in frequency, which is an excellent takeaway for the classroom. Just like in real life, not everyone will see a post at 7 a.m., but there is a population that will. So a post one hour later can capture an entirely different audience. Also, my two most lucrative platforms were Instagram, and much to my shock, Pinterest. I poured way more money into Facebook (which absolutely yielded conversions), but I received a much bigger ‘bang for my buck’ with Pinterest.”
