Professor of the Month: Jacqueline Kuehl

Jacqueline Kuehl is a professional corporate marketer who runs the digital marketing degree program at DePaul University in Chicago. Previously, she helped grow business for a global company as vice president of marketing. She has deep roots in the marketing industry, allowing her to help shape her students’ skills with real-world insights.

In recognition of her passion for practical teaching, Jacqueline has been named Stukent’s Professor of the Month for August 2023!

“I say I’ve been at DePaul my whole life, but in my current role, I’ve been running the digital marketing degree program for five years,” Jacqueline said. She grew up in Chicago and earned her undergraduate and MBA degrees in marketing from the institution. Jacqueline also excelled as an adjunct marketing professor for the school.

Jacqueline’s innate desire to give back and to make a lasting impact drove the transition from VP to educator. “Changing a person's life meant more to me than a bigger paycheck,” she said.

Her approach to education involves creating an environment where students thrive as learners and future industry leaders. Jacqueline has incorporated Stukent’s Digital Marketing Simternship™ in her classroom for the last five years. She said her students enjoy learning in a risk-free environment while building new skills.

“You have to connect the dots for the students and bring in real-world examples to show students how they are building skills,” Jacqueline said. “Show them job descriptions where companies are looking for experience with the exact things they are learning in the simulation. Some students will not like the type of ‘work’ in the simulation, but I tell them that in itself is an education for understanding strengths and weaknesses.”

She added that her natural curiosity and passion for marketing create an engaging setting students love. Her favorite moments as an educator are when former students reach out with job updates or when students say they fell in love with marketing because of her impact. Those post-classroom moments drive her commitment as an educator.
