At Stukent®, we are honored to work alongside educators who are passionate about teaching and integrating technology into their curriculum.
This month, we’re excited to recognize Lisa Wells, a dedicated marketing professor at the University of Delaware. With her extensive experience in both the classroom and the marketing industry, Wells has been a driving force in helping students gain valuable real-world skills.
Several notable achievements distinguish Professor Wells’ career. Before transitioning to education, she was a marketing executive with expertise in both strategic and digital business. She consistently exceeded growth goals and strove to make a positive difference in the lives of consumers, employees, and peers. Additionally, Professor Wells played a key role in developing early-stage start-up companies and consulted with Fortune 500 product teams to solve complex marketing issues.
In the classroom, her teaching methods are informed by her industry experience. She creates engaging curricula that embrace diversity and inclusion, utilizing real-world examples to illustrate challenging marketing concepts. She is known for using multifaceted teaching techniques that cater to various learning styles, both in-person and online.
One of her students shared their experience with Professor Wells: “She held the class accountable for their work, taught us a lot, including material that wasn’t required, making us better students. She allowed us to work at our own speed and overall made the class extremely enjoyable and valuable. All of the course objectives were met, plus we went beyond in some aspects. I got more out of this class than I had hoped to at the beginning of the semester.”
Professor Wells has also embraced innovative tools like Stukent Simternships®. Her students have particularly appreciated the course materials’ clear organization and how the simulations link key concepts to practical applications. The Social Media Simternship and other digital marketing tools she incorporates into her curriculum help students gain hands-on experience and develop critical skills.
For her, the most rewarding part of being an educator is watching students grow in confidence and competence. “I love helping students develop their critical thinking skills to connect ideas and challenge perceptions,” she shared.
Each month, Stukent highlights a standout higher education instructor. Those selected use Stukent products in the classroom and exemplify Stukent’s core values and mission to help educators help students help the world.
