STUKENT PRODUCTS USED

Dr. Bartholomew has used the Mimic Pro Simulation in his classes.

He says, “The students loved it and learned a lot from having to make decisions from the KPIs and on behalf of the company. It was especially interesting as some of our students were from France and worked in the internet marketing field professionally in the UK, so they brought those experiences into their projects.  Other students also took the initiative more in their jobs and implemented new programs at work that helped them in their careers.  Big fan of this type of learning.”

DR. BARTHOLOMEW’S TEACHING TIPS

Have class leaders share their tips

I really liked having the groups that are the class leaders in the different categories give reports to the rest of the class on what they were doing in the simulation.  We also had an actual social media person in the industry do the simulation to compete against our students, which was really fun.

Real-world project

Students also did a project for either their current or former employers or a non-profit doing social media promotion for them during the semester.  These projects are much better with the help of student learning that takes place from the simulation since it focuses the projects on deliverables to the clients.  It also helps the students to know how to ask the client for the materials or information that they need.
