CUES Members Partner with Stukent to Bring Financial Literacy Education to High School Students Nationwide

Madison, WI – CUES (Credit Union Executives Society) and its members have partnered with Stukent, an education technology company, to bring comprehensive financial literacy education to high school students nationwide. Through this collaboration, credit unions are offering their local high schools cutting-edge educational tools that teach essential financial skills — at no cost to schools or taxpayers. This initiative ensures students are better prepared for life after graduation.

As a supplier partner of CUES, Stukent delivers interactive, real-world financial simulations, allowing students to engage with critical financial concepts such as budgeting, credit management, saving, and investing. These tools give students the hands-on experience needed to make informed financial decisions.

“Through Stukent’s engaging simulation, Idaho high schoolers are learning the financial tools they need to be independent and successful in their future endeavors,” said Michael Watson, Chief Marketing Officer at Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU). “The classroom experience has become a powerful way to prepare students for real-life financial decisions.”

Through the sponsorship program, credit unions can select specific school districts, regions, or entire states to support by covering the associated costs of delivering Stukent’s financial literacy tools to high schools. This means that schools receive these resources free of charge. Credit unions have the flexibility to tailor their sponsorship to the needs of their communities, whether by sponsoring just a few schools in their region or an entire state.

In return, credit unions gain visibility through branding opportunities, as their logos are featured within the educational materials. The sponsorship also provides credit unions with public relations opportunities, enhancing their community presence and aligning with their mission of giving back. By supporting students’ financial education, credit unions position themselves in front of future members who will soon be making critical financial decisions, such as selecting debit or credit card providers and applying for car or student loans.

“Stukent offers an invaluable resource that not only empowers students to be financially literate, but it also improves their future quality of life, as well as that of their families and local economies,” said Jared Freeman, CEO of OnPath Credit Union. “It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

Since partnering with CUES, Stukent has worked closely with over 25 credit unions across the country to sponsor specific geographical regions, including statewide sponsorships in Minnesota, New Mexico, Utah, Idaho, and South Carolina. This sponsorship model enables credit unions to help build financially stable communities while driving membership growth.

In addition to the growing number of sponsorships, state legislatures are increasingly passing laws that require personal finance education as a graduation requirement, making it even more important for credit unions to engage with their local communities.

“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with CUES and its members,” said Brennan Summers, Executive Director of Education Partnerships at Stukent. “Together, we are helping young people gain the financial knowledge and skills they need to succeed, and credit unions play an integral role in making that happen. I invite you to connect with me personally to discuss your goals and explore how we can customize a solution to help your community thrive.”
