Author Deep Dive: Crisis Communication

With experience as a journalist, producer, and public relations specialist, Shelley eventually found a passion for crisis communication. In 2001, she began her teaching career at her alma mater Oklahoma State University as an Assistant Professor of public relations, and in 2007 completed her PhD in Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma.

After over 20 years teaching, Dr. Wigley now teaches at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she has developed an interactive style that teaches students not only about crisis communication and PR, but how to do it. Combining her enthusiasm for crisis communication and interactive learning, she authored Crisis Communication: Anticipate. Navigate. Mitigate. with Stukent to give students everything they need to succeed in the field.
