50 of my undergraduate Marketing Analytics students participated in Mimic Analytics. Their reviews were very positive, although those with sub-par Excel skills found it particularly challenging. The exercise gave them the chance to see how sensitive analytics projects are to ETL and how much success depends on good set up.
We experienced some cases where the servers would not accept data from students or show that they had submitted their rounds. We brought this to the attention of the Stukent support team and they responded very quickly and fixed those issues.
Overall, it was a very useful simulation which we plan to use in both the undergraduate and MBA programs at Chapman University.
