I’m from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Currently, I’m an associate professor of marketing at Western Michigan University. Prior to teaching, I was a former agency and brand digital marketer; I still do some consulting in areas like SEO, social media, and general digital strategy.

Why is education important to you?

Education is the key to ensuring that the future is better than the past.

What is your favorite teaching moment?

Derailing a student’s career plans … in a positive way!

What challenges do you face as a professor today?

My biggest challenge is figuring out how to maximize impact in a minimum amount of time.

What does being an Innovation Partner mean to you?

I’m proud to be working alongside people who want to improve education and empower educators.

How did you find out about Stukent?

I’ve been lucky to call Stukent’s founder a friend since before the company was started and before I became a professor.

What makes you want to innovate with Stukent?

We share a similar mission of making education relevant, especially in the area of digital marketing.

What is your most embarrassing moment?

I once slept in and showed up 20 minutes late to an event I was supposed to emcee. That was ugly.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy any sport involving a racquet, visiting national parks, biking, and doing these things with my family.

What is your favorite TV show?

My favorite TV show is “Jeopardy,” but 99% of the TV I watch is sports. My favorite movie is “Fiddler on the Roof.”
