Jack LaBaugh is an experienced media practitioner, author and experienced educator. He has positively impacted thousands of students in his instructional roles at Brigham Young University and Brigham Young University-Idaho, which includes his current position as a professor of marketing in the Department of Marketing where he recently launched a social media emphasis which is becoming one of the fastest growing on campus. His experience in academia is complemented by several corporate leadership positions. LaBaugh worked as director of marketing and public relations for a healthcare services company and as editorial director for a multi-billion-dollar consumer healthcare corporation. Part of his responsibilities included the publication of an international monthly leadership magazine with a circulation of over 500,000 as well as its complimentary digital version, and App. He also was responsible for corporate communications strategy and planning, event planning, as well as, a host of other responsibilities. LaBaugh was recently published in “The Southwest Mass Communication Journal” with an article titled “Are You Talking to Me? The Social-Political Visual Rhetoric of the Syrian Presidency’s Instagram Account.” He has a degree in Print Journalism from Brigham Young University-Idaho, a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Advertising and Political Science From Idaho State University and a master’s degree in mass communications from BYU.
