I’m from Syracuse, NY. I received my bachelor’s in advertising from Syracuse University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University. I had a 25-year career as an advertising media strategist guiding Fortune 500 companies through the complexities of the evolving media landscape. When I started in the industry, the biggest disruption was the growth of the cable TV industry. I went on to steward advertisers through the growth of the internet, the dot bomb period, search, contextual targeting, online behavior advertising (OBA), social media, mobile, and the CTV evolutions. The best part was working with advertisers in a variety of sectors: CPG (Coca-Cola, Kraft, Nabisco, Pepsi, Campbell’s), travel (Starwood Hotels, Continental Airlines), Beauty (L’Oreal, Avon) and telecommunications (AT&T and Verizon), to name my favorites. I loved the creativity of partnering with media companies to create true brand experiences.
Why is education important to you?
Education helps people explore new ideas and find their passions, so that we all live the life we can imagine for ourselves.
What is your favorite teaching moment?
Anytime a student tells me that I introduced them to a path that they didn’t know existed, I have served my “why.”
What challenges do you face as a professor today?
Getting access to the technology and the data required for students to compete in the advertising industry of the future.
What does being an Innovation Partner mean to you?
Someone who’s going to play around with new ideas with childlike wonder. The one who dreams of things that never were and asks, “Why not?”
How did you find out about Stukent?
When I first started teaching in 2013, I was desperate for a way to bring more current content into my class and I found Stukent’s “Digital Marketing Essentials” courseware. That became the inspiration for me to write “Media Planning Essentials.”
What makes you want to innovate with Stukent?
When I approached Stukent with my idea for “Media Planning Essentials,” they were great partners from the start. They saw my vision, supported my ideas, and worked tirelessly to see it through, even when we faced insurmountable hurdles.
"Thanks again for allowing my class to participate in the testing of this simulation.
They really loved it and report weekly about how much they are learning."
