Stukent Strives to Improve Financial Literacy in High Schools Through Acquisition of Real-World Classroom

Stukent is offering $4 million in grant money to provide personal finance courseware entirely free to 2,000 high schools nationwide for the 2019-2020 school year.

To help educators help students help the world, Stukent fills the lack of personal finance courseware with its acquisition of Real-World Classroom.

Hands-on Experience in Personal Finance

The Real-World Classroom (RWC) simulation gives students hands-on experience in personal finance and decision making. Students learn banking skills, develop a credit score, budget for purchases, and learn how to invest in the stock market.

“Everyone would agree that personal finance is a critical topic and life skill that needs to be taught at an early age,” said Brady Adams, VP of Product. “However, finding ways to make it engaging, exciting, and relevant for high school students is a major challenge for educators. This simulation allows students to see the impact of financial literacy in their day-to-day lives in a way that is truly impactful!”

Understanding the importance of and need for personal finance education, Stukent is offering $4 million in grant money to provide personal finance courseware entirely free to 2,000 high schools nationwide for the 2019-2020 school year. With the acquisition, new members are joining the Stukent team. Brian Bean, the former CEO of RWC, has been hired as the new VP of Classroom Experience.

“The entire goal of the education system is to prepare students to be able to earn a living, contribute to society, and provide for themselves,” says Bean. “For far too long, we as educators have been preparing our students for a successful future without ever teaching them what to do with their resources once they get them.”

Stukent, headquartered in Idaho Falls, expects that this acquisition will bring dozens of additional jobs to the area.
